High spatial coherence and short pulse duration revealed by the Hanbury Brown and Twiss interferometry at the European XFEL

چکیده
Second-order intensity interferometry was employed to study the spatial and temporal properties of European X-ray Free-Electron Laser (EuXFEL). Measurements were performed at soft x-ray Self-Amplified Spontaneous Emission (SASE3) undulator beamline a photon energy 1.2 keV in (SASE) mode. Two high-power regimes SASE3 settings, i.e., linear quadratic tapering saturation, studied detail compared with gain regime. The statistical analysis showed an exceptionally high degree coherence up 90% for tapering. Analysis measured data spectral domains provided average pulse duration about 10 fs our measurements. obtained results will be valuable experiments requiring exploiting short utilizing EuXFEL.

Detection of Single Photon Emission by Hanbury-Brown Twiss Interferometry
We prepare a solution of nano-diamond particles on a glass microscope slide with a target concentration of 1 × 10 M. Using a confocal microscope, we observe photons emitted from the particles via excitation from a pulsed 532 nm solid state laser at 840 μW. A Hanbury Brown and Twiss interferometer is used to probe these photons for evidence of antibunching. At this time, we did not observe antib...
متن کاملThe Hanbury Brown and Twiss effect
If we had just 2Nk in the sum, this would be proportional to the energy of each mode times the number of quanta in each mode, summed over all modes. In fact, we have a ‘zero point’ contribution even when Nk = 0. It has exactly the same origin as the 12~ω ground state energy of the simple harmonic oscillator. In this case, the infinite number of modes means that the sum in Eq. (3) is not converg...
متن کاملThe fermionic hanbury brown and twiss experiment
A Hanbury Brown and Twiss experiment for a beam of electrons has been realized in a two-dimensional electron gas in the quantum Hall regime. A metallic split gate serves as a tunable beam splitter to partition the incident beam into transmitted and reflected partial beams. In the nonequilibrium case the fluctuations in the partial beams are shown to be fully anticorrelated, demonstrating that f...
متن کاملHanbury Brown–Twiss interferometry for fractional and integer Mott phases
The theoretical framework of Hanbury Brown–Twiss interferometry (HBTI) is used to study integer and fractionally filled Mott insulator (MI) phases in period-2 optical superlattices. In contrast to the quasimomentum distribution, this second order interferometry pattern exhibits high contrast fringes in the insulating phases. Our detailed study of HBTI suggests that this interference pattern sig...
